Prom Season 2017
We cannot wait for Prom season 2107! Although it’s a hectic 2-3 weeks, we love being part of the buzz and excitement photographing this very momentous occasion.
Your school Prom is the highlight of your high school years. Hours go into the preparations. For the young ladies there’s finding the perfect dress, and having your hair and makeup done. For the young men, looking very handsome in their suit / tuxedo. With our mobile studio set up, we are there to capture beautiful portrait photographs of you and your friends for you to keep as a treasured memory. Photographs are printed and mounted on the night to take home.
If you have more than 100 guests attending, there is no attendance fee. For less than 100, we may charge a small attendance fee, but please call us to let us know your numbers. For more information and to check availability, contact the studio.
Prom Photographer in Sutton Coldfield and Tamworth
Prom season 2016 has come to a close, and what a season it has been. We had the pleasure of being the recommended Prom Photographer for Ramada Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield. Also, provided photography to some other venues in the Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham area.
The atmosphere is amazing at the Proms, which we thrive on. In return, we capture photos that the students will cherish for years to come as a memento of their High School Prom. A mobile studio area is set up in the venue room with backdrop and professional lighting. All photographs purchased are printed, mounted and packed in a plastic protective cover on the night ready for taking home. We will take any style of photograph requested – single portrait to showcase the stunning outfits, couples, groups of friends etc. Even the teachers get involved with team photos. The photos can be as formal or as fun as you want them to be, and there is no limit to the number of times you step out in front of the camera.
Here are some more images from 2016. If you would like to discuss the photography for your Prom, please get in contact.
On Saturday 21st May we travelled up to Stoke to provide our Event Photography services for our good friend Marie Bailey at her charity ball in aid of Bliss, a charity that supports families with premature babies. Marie and her husband Richard’s daughter was born premature at 28 weeks weighing only 2lb 9oz.
For years now, Marie has continually travelled around the Midlands organising events to raise funds for this very worthy charity, including the annual extravaganza of Lilly’s Ball. Whenever Marie has a Ball, we are right behind her to capture everyone looking their best. Here’s Marie looking her best wrapped in ribbons and bows!
The Diamond Bliss Charity Ball was held at the Moat House Hotel, which is a stunning venue. The guests all enjoyed a cocktail arrival and us taking their photo, following by eating, drinking, raffles, auctions, and finished by dancing the night away. Fun was had by all, including ourselves. Over £4000 was raised on the night, which is amazing!
At events we take portrait photos of guests as they arrive. The photos are then available to purchase and printed on the night. A percentage of the sales is donated to the charity. If you would like to talk to us about our Event Photography packages, please contact us. Here are a few portrait photos from the evening.
Back in March 2016, Cath & John dropped in to the Philip Charles Photography studio to tell us a massive secret, and wanted our help as they announced their news to their family and friends. Needless to say we were intrigued and honoured that they came to us. We took Cath & John’s portrait photo at the New Years Eve Gala at Sutton Coldfield Ramada, they liked the photos so much that they chose us to be part of their celebration.
They had booked Nuthurst Grange for 07 May 2016 to make their announcement. They gathered all of their family and friends, not one of them knowing the reason. A video was played to the guests explaining why they were all there – Cath & John married in secret before Christmas in America in a HOT AIR BALLOON!!
Following the video (and lots of hugs, tears and laughter), everyone was ushered outside with a balloon to where we were waiting. We arranged everyone on the lawn for a mass balloon release in honour of their wedding venue. This was one of the most nerve racking moments of our photography life! Picture the scene – 80 guests all with a balloon each (no spares), only 1 chance to get the shot! We spent over an hour setting up, and loads of test shots. Once the group was arranged and providing clear instructions to release on the count of 3, not after, not before, actually on 3 (and final check that the lens cap was off), the balloons were released. It was all over in less than 3 seconds – phew, we got the shot!
Every guest received a mounted copy of the photo to take home. As we gave out the photo’s all of the guests commented on how good the photo was and how lovely that they received a copy.
We would like to thank Cath & John for choosing Philip Charles Photography, it was a real honour.
If you would like Philip Charles Photography to be a part of your celebration, whatever that may be, please get in contact.
